I have a list of places I have to go to every time I’m in Vancouver.  I didn’t get to hit them all up this time, but here is a map you can check out if you’re visiting, and some of my top bites and sips are below.

My top Vancouver bites:

  • Best neighbourhood sushi joint: Oishii Sushi (Spicy tuna sashimi and tuna shooters)
  • Best Japanese tapas: Guu with Garlic
  • Best cozy fare: The Twisted Fork (Moules frites and banana stuffed brioche French toast)
  • Best cooking school: The Dirty Apron
  • Best Korean food: Jang Mo Jib
  • Best upscale: Market by Jean-Georges (Seared scallops with caramelized cauliflower and short ribs)
  • Best cocktail: Boneta (the Vancouver or a Last Word)
  • Best food store: Gourmet Warehouse
