Hydrating Summer Smoothie

by Gillian on May 30, 2012

I almost wanted to call this “Apology Smoothie”.

With all of the wine, salt and caffeine my body has been taking in on these hot days, it has been begging me for some serious hydration.

This smoothie is rich in antioxidants and super hydrating, perfect after a night of two many drinks on a patio or sweaty summer run outdoors.

Hydrating Summer Smoothie

  • 2 cups coconut water (or 1 cup coconut water, 1 cup water)
  • 1 cup frozen berries
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • handful of spinach
  • 1/2 tsp spirulina
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 scoop protein powder (vanilla or berry)

How do you stay hydrated in the summer?

Mmmmm… sounds tasty Gillian. I love coconut water… Have you tried Harmless Harvest yet?

And… btw – I think I’m in the same boat as you…I’ve been having a little too much fun and need to get serious again with more balance.

I’ve never tried that Vani! Is it a brand of coconut water? I’m not sure we have it in Canada!
