“A lot of competitors blow up after their show.” “You’re going to ruin your metabolism.” There is a lot of talk about post competition weight gain. And with good reason. Because just like any overly strict diet, amplified by intense training, there are bound to be repercussions.

And just like that, I’m 2 weeks out from my first fitness competition. I am hungry, exhausted, emotional and sore in a way I’ve never experienced before. For the first time in this prep, I’m not enjoying my workouts. But I’m so close.
